Scott Mead, Sound Engineer
Scott Mead launched successful sound studios in two different regions over
the course of a career that has spanned 20 years,
personally taking part in every aspect of music
recording and media production. Mead then founded
the successful Meadia Productions company in
southern California, to create exceptional DVDs and
recorded products for building brands and capturing
attention. Meadia Productions is one of only four
companies in the US certified as an Authorized
Steinberg Training Center, and has engineered the
music of many well- known artists.
"The pursuit of musical growth has always
been my passion, beginning with the study of piano
before I was able to read written word. Study of
piano continued through college at Eastern Michigan
University, with secondary instruments of saxophone,
percussion family, bassoon, and cello. Independent
study of bass, and guitar complemented my formal
training and provided a means for writing and
recording inspired pieces of work.
"The art of recording has accompanied my
passion in music, and I immersed myself in any and
every capacity where an opportunity permitted
learning through observation, discussion, and
participation in the experience of music production.
College course in physics brought new understanding
of sound - how it lives, breathes, and is affected
by environment; how it is electronically captured,
manipulated, and reproduced; and how audible
frequencies relate to visual color, emotion, and the
senses. To this day, each and every recording holds
more than merely the job at hand - rather it is a
chance to allow inspiration to become reality,
something that never ceases to bring amazement to
me."
